The Guest Quarters At The City University Of Hong Kong

We visited Hong Kong in the spring of 2009. We were very lucky that our daughter managed to book an apartment at the City University of Hong Kong. The apartment or guest quarters was within the campus grounds of the City University and just a block away from where my daughter was staying. Our daughter was studying at  the City University of Hong Kong for one semester under the student exchange programme between Hong Kong's City University and Singapore's Nanyang Technological University.

Our flight departed Kuala Lumpur early in the morning at 6-20 A.M. and landed in  Hong Kong International Airport at 10-30 A.M. The Hong Kong International Airport is also known as the Chek Lap Kok Airport. As usual, our first task was to buy each of us a  Mass Transit Railway (MTR) card in order for us to move around Hong Kong with ease. In Hong Kong, the MTR card is called the Octopus Card.

With luggage in tow, we followed the signboards to the bus terminal. Our daughter had already given us direction to board the City Bus No. E22  from the airport and to get down at  the Shek Kip Mei Park bus stop which is near to the City University. Since she was already on the lookout for our arrival, she spotted her father the moment he stepped down from the bus even though she was looking out from the window from the eleventh floor of the apartment she was staying. She rushed down and met us at the threshold of the University campus.

The apartment has 2 bedrooms, a bathroom cum toilet, a kitchen and a living cum dining room.  It was fully furnished and very comfortable.  We were happy to have stayed there for 6 nights even though we had to walk quite a distance from the University campus to the nearest MTR station, which is the MTR Kowloon Tong Station below the Festival Walk Shopping Mall.  Anyway, it was a blessing in disguise that we had to walk long distances everyday or rather every time we needed to go somewhere because we needed the exercise since we have been gorging on the delectable foods in Hong Kong!.
